About this deal

Many aftermarket headlight bulbs come equipped with fans or heat-dissipating materials like aluminium. Cooler bulbs tend to have longer lifespans, hence super bright headlight bulbs often require heat sinks and turbo fans to handle the excess heat they generate. This is the category of the bulb. It may be Max Vision or just a standard replacement or even off road etc. Osram's Night Breaker family has - Night Breaker Unlimited, Night Braker Laser and Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited. Which among these is better? Running both tests at the same time, although in different headlamps, gave us a chance to see just how big an advance HID was over halogen when it was introduced over 20 years ago. So far, I’ve only been able to test Philips X-treme Vision for a total of six months, and I haven’t discerned any dimming of the beam. These bulbs pledge a total lifespan of 800 hours. While 800 hours is relatively standard for headlight bulbs these days, there are alternatives offering better value for money. However, they’re notably more costly than the Xtreme Vision.

If you decide to upgrade your headlight bulbs to Philips X-treme Vision +130 you will also benefit from a longer light beam. This in turn increases your reaction time for a safer and much more comfortable driving experience at night. Where neither bulb range has a particular flaw, the biggest difference that might hold sway between the RacingVision GT200 and X-tremeVision Pro150 is the extra 50% light that the RacingVision GT200 boasts. Though it is worth remembering that where this is a significant increase in light output, it does come at the cost of a reduced bulb lifespan – 250 hours compared with the X-tremeVision Pro150's whopping 450 hours.

A Clearer View Of The Road Ahead

Let's first take a look at the X-tremeVision Pro150. Taking over the reins from the massively popular X-tremeVision range of car headlight bulbs, this range carries on the X-tremeVision tradition of offering huge lighting improvements. Where the X-tremeVision offered improved light output up to 130% brighter than a standard halogen, the X-tremeVision Pro150 ups the ante, offering a remarkable extra 20% increase. As such, the X-tremeVision Pro150 offers an immense, Maximum Performance light, with an up to 150% increase in terms of brightness. Coming to the actual problem itself, please clarify if you have a double barrel headlight setup or a single one for both high and low beam. I have seen Jazz With both so not sure. It finished last in all our tests and delivered just 16 per cent of the area above 30 lux compared with our winner – easily visible to the naked eye. It came as no surprise that both samples failed to reach the minimum light levels by a significant margin. Avoid.

A colour temperature of 3500K helps your eyes focus better for a more comfortable driving experience at night I’ve snapped a picture of the Xtreme Vision to give you an idea of its size and how effortlessly it should fit in your car. With such popular headlight bulbs, installation issues are a rarity 99% of the time. The Figure of Merit for HID is close to double that of the halogen, with a beam that’s 30 or so metres longer. I wholeheartedly second this. I have experimented with a number of LED bulbs and have resigned to using halogen aux lamps as almost all my drives are by night. Bulbs are placed in a headlamp - a reflector type from a Fiat 500X for halogen bulbs, projector from an Audi A3 for HID - allowed to burn in to settle output, then an image is taken of the beam pattern on the wall.
