In the late 1990s, Chewits experimented with ads showing multiple newscasting dinosaur puppets. The catchphrase advice at the close of each 'broadcast' was to "do it before you chew it". This style of ads was relatively short-lived for Chewits.In 2003, after a further shift in advertising agencies, a new ad was aired showing a wide range of animals auditioning to be the new face of Chewits. The ad announced the return of the iconic dinosaur Chewie mascot, now dubbed 'Chewie the Chewitsaurus'. [12] But now this range has expanded to Sour Cherry and Sour Lemon flavoured Chews, as well as Sour Apple & Lemon Juicy Bites. Now that’s something to sink your teeth into. When Chewits first appeared, there was originally only one flavour: orange. Soon after, this one flavour expanded to another 3 flavours. One of which is now perhaps the most iconic of all the Chewits Chews – Strawberry. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. Not all sweets are suitable for everyone! Some sweets have certain ingredients, like gelatine, which aren’t suitable for vegetarians and aren’t allowed in a halal diet. All Chewits’ fruity flavours are made with real fruit juice and free from artificial colouring and hydrogenated fats. However, not all the products in our ranges are suitable for those with particular diets.We’ve all got the one sweet that was our favourite during childhood. And now, thinking about it brings nostalgia but also disappointment that we can’t have it again. Quite a lot of the sweets we enjoyed during our childhood have since been discontinued. It’s because of this use of animal-based gelatine that some sweets are not suitable for vegetarians, vegans or those who follow halal or kosher diets. Are Chewits Halal?
