About this deal

To create a suitable habitat for your Aqua Dragons, you'll need an aquarium. You can buy various shapes, you can also use a glass or plastic jar. The water should be between 17-30°C and does not need to be changed. Aqua Dragons require a well-balanced diet which we supply in the food sachet. It’s easy to set up as the tank comes assembled. As the kit is suitable for slightly older children (recommended for ages 6+) and my children are pretty rubbish at waiting, we set the kit up on evening when they were in bed. There were probably more than a dozen, not even a millimetre long. I got stupidly excited, and so did the kids… and then DISASTER. While you’re waiting for your Aqua Dragons to hatch, make sure the water remains at the correct temperature (17-30 °C) and the tank gets plenty of natural light.

It’s not normally necessary, but if you want to clean the tank you can carefully tip your Aqua Dragons (and their water) into another clean container while you rinse out their tank. Only use water and a clean cloth or brush to clean the tank, don’t use any chemicals or detergent, because that could harm your Aqua Dragons. The first week is when Aqua Dragons are the most sensitive to temperature. The best temperature is from min 17ºC to 30ºC Proper feeding is essential for the health of your Aqua Dragons. Feed them small portions of Aqua Dragons food every 2-3 days. Overfeeding can result in poor water quality and can harm your Aqua Dragons. It's also important to make sure the water in their habitat is not too cold, as this can slow down their metabolism and affect their ability to digest food. When you feed the Aqua Dragons, don’t use more than one level spoonful of food - and always use the special tiny spoon that comes with your Aqua Dragons kit. As a general guide, you would normally feed Aqua Dragons every 2-3 days if you have many Aqua Dragons, and every 3-4 days if you have fewer.Having had Sea Monkeys when I was young and been entirely underwhelmed, I wondered what the children would make of the the tiny aquatic Aqua Dragons.

Aqua Dragons have been living in the sea and in salty lakes on the earth for millions of years including while dinosaurs roamed the Earth! Under optimal conditions - if you care for your Aqua Dragons very well - they can live for a few months. This is their normal life cycle and it is completely normal for them to die within a few months, so when this happens, don’t worry that you have done something wrong. Feed your Aqua Dragons, but not too much. If there is food visible in the water, you probably don’t need to feed them. As a general guide, feeding every 2-3 days would be expected for many Aqua Dragons, and every 4-5 days for fewer. See our FAQ for more details. It can vary quite a bit depending on how many eggs were in the sachet and the conditions in the tank. You can expect anywhere between a dozen or so up to a hundred!

Aqua Dragons Toy It’s important not to overfeed your Aqua Dragons. How often to feed them depends on the number of Aqua Dragons there are and how much food there is remaining in the tank. The light was a nice addition; it could be used as a nightlight in an older and more trustworthy child’s room, although you can’t really replace the batteries with ease once it’s filled so I’d be nervous about leaving the light on too much.
