About this deal

The third level of commemorations of these 12 days are for those who in later centuries lived and honored Christ in marvelous ways and became saints of the church, such as St Melanie of Rome from the 5th century (December 31), St Basil the Great from the 4thcentury era (January 1), and St Sylvester, Bishop of Rome also from the 4th century(Jan 2). I Just Want to Have Friends: More specifically, "Friends who Won't Leave." This is Past's motive for holding Scrooge hostage in the Christmases of the past, so they can hang out forever rather than Scrooge learn the True Meaning of Christmas and never spend time with the ghosts again.

Having never read Syd Moore or the Essex Witch Museum series of stories which she writes I wasn’t sure how I would fare with this book although the good news is that only one of them demands a familiarity with the characters of the series, even if two others do refer to individual pre-established characters. The disappointingly news is that I found the overall quality of the collection rather hit and miss with some impressing, others wryly amusing and several more leaving me non-plussed and rather bemused. On the whole though, this is a varied and solid collection with about half of the twelve stories making a significant favourable impression on me.Teen Donald plays the guitar. We know from an earlier episode that in college he'd join a band named "The Three Caballeros". Blame Game: When Scrooge furiously asks who put up the giant Santa animatronic, everyone points at Louie while Louie points at Huey. Thrill Seeker: It takes seconds for Scrooge to grow bored of the peace and quiet when he finally gets it, realizing that the frustrations of life that he was trying to get away from actually brings in the excitement.

A second level of observances during these 12 days are commemorations of people from the earliest decades of the spread of the Christian faith after the death and resurrection of Christ and Pentecost, such as St. Stephen (one of the first of the 7 deacons) who became the first martyr in Christianity (December27); and the “seventy” as they are known, these being the 70 apostles that the 12 apostles trained and sent off to travel and preach (January 4).This Lifetime Christmas 2015 movie has everything, perhaps too much of everything: an attractive cast, love, romance, nostalgia, mystery, beautiful winter settings and a splendid, Victorian haunted house "Hollygrove Inn". It's the former home of the Forsythes,(not the same as in the "Forsythe Saga"), who have died without heirs. Ambitious, single and thoroughly modern attorney Kate (Jen Lilley)is sent from Boston to Vermont 12 days before Christmas to broker the sale of the inconveniently haunted mansion. She's promised a promotion if she can deal with the ghosts and the real estate before the year's end. Problems start to mount as soon as Kate gets there. The appraiser leaves in panic, his job undone, after having encountered a ghost. Plus, the innkeeper Warren (excellent actor Robert Walsh)is closing the Inn for the holidays. But spunky Kate tells him she will stay in spite of Warren's objections. Kate stays, meets the resident hunky ghost, impressive Daniel Forsythe (Thomas Beaudoin), who died by an unknown killer on Christmas Eve 95 years ago, as he approached "Hollygrove". The supernatural walks into our story right then in the unusual form of Daniel The Ghost, who likes to eat pancakes, imbibe drinks, and of course, likes women like Kate, in more than a spiritual way. At first, Kate and Daniel quarrel, but soon she succumbs to his manly ghost charms. Didn't See That Coming: Scrooge believed that the Ghost of Christmas Past was teaching him a lesson about what Christmas is all about (since that's the Christmas spirits' job). He was surprised that the spirit was actually planning on trapping him in a time loop so that he would never leave him for his family again. Ten Lords A-Leaping- Reflects the Ten Commandments, brought down by Moses and passed down as Catholic law. (No need to reprint them here) Disproportionate Retribution: Young Della refuses to cut Young Donald and Dewey out of the net even while the Wendigo is almost upon them, all because Donald called her "Dumbella". Downplayed in that the actual reason for this was that she wanted to hear an apology for her brother hiding himself away rather than being with his sister on Christmas. Day 7 - Dec 31 -Nothing directly connected to Christmas per se, but 2 important figures of the 4th and 5th Century who witnessed greatly to Christian living.

Drinking Contest: Dewey walks in on Scrooge having an eggnog-drinking contest with the Christmas spirits. Stealth Pun: Beakley, a secret agent, turns down the advances of the Ghost of Christmas Present, but aggressively pursues Christmas Future. Clearly, she flirts with death. The title cards for the end credits are done in the same style as the original short film's opening credits. They don’t have a particularly Christmassy theme (apart from a couple) but they are very much within the strange tales genre. The stories fit into a wider series of books Moore has written, the Essex Witch Museum stories starring a character called Rosie Strange, who pops up in at least one of these. Death is one of the common themes. Good Is Not Soft: While it's questionable if Scrooge intended for the Ghost of Christmas Past to suffer so much, and readily reconciles when given the opportunity, he makes no apology for leaving him alone in the past either given what the spirit tried to do to him.The five golden rings rerepresented the first five books of the Old Testament, which describe man's fall into sin and the great love of God in sending a Savior. Mouse Trap: Mrs. Beakley puts out some mouse traps with pieces of holly in them to catch Sugar Plum Fairies and Scrooge, of course, ends up stepping on one. Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Once Dewey gets the idea, he immediately tries to warn his mother about her fate and save her from it. Unfortunately, if he warns his mother, then he creates a paradox, so he's forced to let her go. The song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas" is an English Christmas carol. From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of the Church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember. To fit the number scheme, when you reach number 9, representing the Fruits of the Holy Ghost, the originator combined 6 to make 3, taking the 6 fruits that were similar: the fruit in each parenthesis is the that was not named separately. There are actually Twelve Fruits of the Holy Ghost. As they designated dates to commemorate events in Jesus’ life, the early Christian Church selected January 6 as the date to observe both the birth and baptism of Christ. In the early 4thcentury it was felt by the church leadership that a distinction should be made between the two observances. They selected Dec 25 to be the date to celebrate the birth of Christ and kept Jan 6 to be the baptism.
