About this deal

There is no doubt that the entire performance of the Debut Carbon EVO model escalates to new levels of richness, realism, and detail retrieval, entering ‘restricted’ audiophile ground territory. The Speaker Box 5 S2 is an unreasonably good speaker. There’s a fundamental ‘rightness’ to the way it makes music To apply in store, simply call in to our branch and one of our experienced sales team will guide you through the application.

Pro-Ject used Pro-Ject's technology and experience gained from the past and fit damping techniques of highend turntables into the Debut Carbon EVO. Looking at more advanced TPE damping and highmass sandwich constructions Pro-Ject were able to come up with a new motor and suspension solution for the Debut Carbon EVO. Otherwise, cheers, fellow audiophile. (I would say 'fellow music lover,' but you seem not so much the type.) Pro-Ject's new Debut Carbon EVO does not just look great - it also always stands perfectly level. It uses 3 height adjustable heavy-duty metal feet to ensure a level positioning on every surface. The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo is easy to set up, has fantastic build quality, and is the best-sounding turntable we’ve tested.” – Chris Heinonen, Wirecutter

I'm not sure how many records I have. People who know that kind of thing remind me of those those high school dopes who needed to walk around at parties regaling fellow party goers with the exact number of beers they had consumed. It doesn't matter. Shut up and party. Anyway, I would guesstimate I have 3,500? But, that has nothing to do with anything other than answering your question. As for what I like, all of it. Wait, no, I don't really care for "countrypolitan" or anything that's so compressed it actually intrudes on the music...which, these days, seems to be too many things. Bottom line, though, if someone took the time to record it, I will try to listen to it. From there, the Carbon Evo builds on the qualities of its more affordable brethren. The biggest gains are to be had in the soundstage and bass. Put succinctly, the Carbon Evo finds more space in the record and then proceeds to fill it more effectively. Without the low end ever sounding overcooked or dominating the performance, the Pro-Ject hits harder and goes deeper. Analogue bass is a function of engineering; it can’t be easily created any other way. The Carbon Evo is able to give much more of a hint as to what the high end of analogue is capable of at a fairly terrestrial price point. Sound quality is always our main concern, so it’s still the Rega for us, but that’s a split, rather than an unanimous, decision. The answer to which is better for you will come from hearing both for yourself, but don’t let that frustrate you – you’ll be in the company of two of the best record players ever made at this price. Of course, that is of little surprise. The company has long proven its ability to offer up a magnificently plush midrange, with vocals so often a particular treat when given so much warmth and held up by plenty of weight in the bass.

Building a great high-end turntable requires design expertise. Building a great & affordable turntable requires not only expertise, but also skilled engineering, flawless manufacturing, advanced material sciences, and relentless passion. Creating a worthy successor to the legendary Debut Carbon required rethinking and reevaluating every component and each design choice. The motor drives a sub-platter system for a more elegant overall aesthetic. The sub-platter is mounted into a precision-engineered stainless steel main bearing with bronze bushing. The sub-platter sits beneath the heavy main steel platter with TPE damping. This proven drive system experiences minimal friction and allows for excellent technical measurements and unrivalled speed stability.it sounds great, as its clean aesthetics carry over to a very clean and balanced midrange with just a touch of sonic warmth. The excellent-sounding midrange is accompanied with by slightly weighty bass and polite treble, making for many hours of listening enjoyment.” – Brian Kahn, Future Audiophile
