About this deal

James Cameron confirmed that one of the three discs would contain a special feature on an environmental campaign in Brazil, A Message from Pandora. [5] Another disc contains the movie, with 16 minutes of finished, new material, and the other one more special features, including 45 minutes of unfinished material. The first Avatar was an event film, especially when watched in 3D, which experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to James Cameron’s cutting-edge technology behind the amazing visuals. Starring Sam Worthington as a human that pilots a man-made avatar of the native Na’vi who then meets and falls in love with Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri, the two then try and stop the Resources Development Administration from obtaining a priceless metal called….unobtanium. Common consensus is that while the film was amazing to watch, the plot was a giant pile of sci-fi nonsense. Avatar: The Way of Water There was also a limited edition with only 1000 copies available. This edition includes an artbook, exclusive case, and a signed film negative. [6] New Scenes [ ] An "Interactive Scene Deconstruction" option, in which viewers can experience the various stages of production through 3 different viewing modes, and more.

Avatar Avatar: Original Score ( Deluxe Edition · Best · Complete · Vinyl) · I See You · Into the Na'vi World · Toruk - The First Flight When you capture the performances, you make a performance cut; but that cut is not frame accurate to what the final cut will be because it is not made with true images. It is only made with reference camera images, and their job is just to make sure that we have a good record of whats happening facially for the actors. Then we take those reference camera images and we start to imagine what the shots might be.

Capturing Avatar a documentary on the making of the film (see more about that by going HERE) as well as several other support pieces on the filmmaking process itself. For management of an avatar it is necessary to possess DNA which served for creation of an organism. One of scientists who avatar had to operate, perishes, but scientists find a way out: the twin brother of the dead, Jake Sallie serving in marines and as a result of accident sat down in a wheelchair, possesses the same DNA. The art of Avatar: Over 1,850 images in 16 themed galleries (The World of Pandora, The Creatures, Pandora Flora, Pandora Bioluminescence, The Na’vi, The Avatars, Maquettes, Na’vi Weapons, Na’vi Props, Na’vi Musical Instruments, RDA Designs, Flying Vehicles, AMP Suit, Human Weapons, Land Vehicles, One-Sheet Concepts)

Production featurettes: Sculpting Avatar, Creating the Banshee, Creating the Thanator, The AMP Suit, Flying Vehicles, Na’vi Costumes, Speaking Na’vi, Pandora Flora, Stunts, Performance Capture, Virtual Camera, The 3D Fusion Camera, The Simul-Cam, Editing Avatar, Scoring Avatar, Sound Design, The Haka: The Spirit of New Zealand I do not pretend to be blind to the film's flaws; nor do I necessarily put it into my list of top twenty films of all time. However, I do see it as having a vast impact both culturally in terms of the subject matter, and technologically in the film industry -- which will have its own broad cultural effect. It is certainly a film with far-reaching and varied significance. Capturing Avatar: Feature-length documentary covering the 16-year filmmakers’ journey, including interviews with James Cameron, Jon Landau, cast and crew If you have Avatar on Blu-ray or DVD, there’s not a thing Disney can do about it. There is no 4K Blu-ray release, so it’s pretty much the same version you’d have found on Disney Plus, but the movie is yours. It’s not coming from a server, it’s playing off a disc that’s firmly in your possession. It has long been, and still is, the main benefit of purchasing physical media compared to digital and streaming platforms. The opportunity to delve into the technological processes involved in the making of this film is an absolute treat for film lovers, as Cameron says, "whether you are a fan of this film or not." If you want to read more about my tour behind the scenes of Avatar, the be sure to READ THIS. THE NEW FOOTAGE & SCENE CONSTRUCTION While it doesn’t change the content of the film, Avatar’s big switcharoo in title cards does continue to bode well for Disney’s long haul approach to the series at large. Which means that should that planned theatrical re-release of the original film occur, as well as any sort of home video reissue in formats like 4K UHD, you can probably bet that the new stylization will officially welcome this title into the Disney fold.

But suspicious timing or not, the point still stands. The major danger about streaming is that your access to content can and will be pulled if the rights holder decrees. It doesn't matter whether the intention is malicious or if the whole thing was an IT mistake. As for streaming services, those interested can watch Avatar on Disney+, with the special features. Originally, the extended cut was not included despite Disney enabling special features, but now the extra eight minutes are viewable on the service. The film was pulled form streaming earlier this year, just briefly, while the movie was re-released into theaters for one last theatrical run. That’s why streaming and digital purchasing are so popular. It’s cheaper and more cost-effective, and you don’t need to find a place to store all your cases and discs. Unfortunately it also puts consumers at the mercy of rights holders, who could and apparently will pull access if it doesn’t suit them. Experience the spectacular world of James Cameron's Avatar as never before with this all-new three-disc extended collector’s edition. The journey begins with three movie versions: the original theatrical release, the special edition re-release, and the exclusive extended cut not shown in theaters. And that's just what's on the first Blu-ray disc. The set's bonus feature run more than eight hours and include over 45 minutes of deleted scenes; actor's screen tests; on-location footage; feature-length documentaries on the film's groundbreaking production; an interactive scene-deconstruction feature that lets you explore different levels of production for 17 scenes; a comprehensive guide to the world of Pandora; and more. The greatest adventure of all time just got bigger and better. "Titanic star Kate Winslet is working with Cameron, for the first time since the boat sunk, on Way of Water. While filming a stunt, Winslet set a new underwater record, previously held by Tom Cruise. Fans of Avatar will get to watch the actress’ hard work soon, in glorious 3D, without having to worry about bathroom breaks.

In a world where Disney+ is still launching gradually throughout the world, there have been quite a few changes noticed in this new digital library. We’re not just talking about Avatar’s title font either, as we’ve seen jokes from The Simpsons cropped out of episodes because of aspect ratio issues, as well as a whole scene in Lilo and Stitch changing the door of a dryer into a pizza box. Interactive scene deconstruction: Explore the stages of production of 17 different scenes through three viewing modes: capture level, template level, and final level with picture-in-picture reference James Cameron films are famous for being watched multiple times, famously starting with Terminator 2 and then becoming a cultural phenomena with Titanic and the first Avatar. Anyone watching Avatar when it airs on broadcast tv will have to take advantage of the commercial breaks, as the film’s network runtime has ballooned to four hours. BD-Live extras (requires BD-Live-enabled player and Internet connection--may be available a limited-time only): Crew Short: The Night Before Avatar; additional screen tests, including Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, and Laz Alonso; speaking Na’vi rehearsal footage; Weta Workshop: walk-and-talk presentation However, this will be the first time Avatar has been available in U.S. theaters in over a decade, and there’s no doubt Disney wants to earn as much as it possibly can. Especially since director James Cameron has gone to the trouble of remastering the movie with 4K resolution and a higher frame rate — the latter of which isn’t likely to look as good when you watch it at home.

But that doesn’t change the fact that pulling Avatar from Disney Plus ahead of the re-release is a dirty tactic — assuming it has been done deliberately. It’s not the re-release itself that gets me, corporations are going to do whatever they can to boost revenue; it’s the fact Disney has seemingly removed choice from the equation. Fans can watch Avatar first on ABC, Sunday December 11th, at 7:00 PM EST. After that, FX is the second channel showing the film, Thursday, December 15th and Sunday, December 18th from 8:00 PM EST. Finally, Freeform will air the movie just after Christmas on Monday, December 26th at 7:30 PM.
