Some customers complain that this product is very loud and the throwing distance is never more than 15 feet. Pros Cleanliness and Maintenance —If you’re selecting a hand-held option, it’s important to factor in whether the launcher will help you keep your hands clean while playing with your pup. Automatic ball launchers will need to be cleaned out every once in a while to clear out any left behind debris or dirt. Various Tennis Ball Sizes. Depending on the model, many auto ball launchers work with standard tennis balls which are great for medium to large-sized dogs. However, if you have a small dog, many manufacturers such as iFetch created ball launchers for small dogs by tossing out smaller tennis balls. If you have a small dog, we definitely encourage you to consider the iFetch Too or another ball thrower that uses small tennis balls. Dog’s love playing fetch with someone who can really help them put in the yards, so a launcher that can seriously fire or fling a ball to frightening distances should always be a priority. Some automatic models also have the option to change distances and angles, meaning you can please multiple dogs and perhaps avoid them running off in a direction they shouldn’t! Power sources

Run by a family business in Austin, Texas, iFetch offers a variety of automatic ball throwers for different types of dogs. The iFetch Mini, for example, is made specifically for smaller dogs and comes with three mini tennis balls that measure 1.6 inches in diameter. With the touch of a button, the automatic fetch machine can launch the balls at three distances: 10, 20, or 30 feet—just drop the ball in the slot or train your pup to do it on their own.Indoor or outdoor use– Indoor use will require a shorter throwing distance, and for some outdoor spaces, you may need battery power versus a plug-in.

Some models, such as the iFetch ball launcher, can be used with either batteries or an AC power cord which is amazing, allowing you to use the power cord when indoors and use batteries when outdoors so you do not need to run an extension cord. Many dogs can even be trained to use the automatic ball launchers themselves by fetching the ball and returning it into the ball launcher opening. Indoor vs. Outdoor Use —Be sure to picture where you intend to use the ball launcher with your best buddy. Indoor ball launchers may need to be compatible with softer toys, for example, or have shorter preset launch distances for automatic launchers. Outdoor areas should be fenced-in and private so that your pooch can focus on chasing after the ball rather than the neighborhood cat or squirrel. If you plan on playing with your pooch and the launcher inside, make sure there isn’t anything out that could break during play sessions. The Nerf Dog Stomp Launcher claims to have up to a 23 meter range. All of the team tried this launcher and you really have to have a very strong stomp to get the ball to reach anywhere near that distance. Lee angles the Nerf Dog Stomp Launcher towards the water Our overall favorite is the PetSafe Automatic Ball Launcher which has settings for nine distances and six angles. We also like the Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster, which is lightweight, portable, and very affordable. Customer reviews

Three balls come with the launcher, which are iDog Midi balls, felted like tennis balls but made for dogs and less abrasive on their teeth. However, standard tennis balls work fine. The doggies really, really enjoyed playing fetch as this launcher does launch a good distance! Maya had never ever seen this kind of toy before and was so enthusiastic and smiley. As were we seeing her run with her long legs in her Bambi manner. Adorable. If you want to play ball games in more places than just down the park, you may want to consider a launcher which can also work in enclosed spaces. Suitability for indoors and outdoors tends to depend on a contraptions launch power, as hoying balls up to 100 feet indoors isn’t exactly a wise idea unless you live in a particularly large home!
