About this deal

Cozy Case Files Volume 14 (By: Diane Kelly,Gigi Pandian,Ellie Alexander,Paige Shelton,Mindy Quigley,Korina Moss) I would like to thank Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for an advance copy of Date with Evil, the eighth novel to feature Samson O’Brien and Delilah Metcalfe of the Dales Detective Agency, set in the fictional Yorkshire town of Buncliffe.

I loved Delilah and Samson together, they turn out to be a really good combo – good for each other and their business. Delilah ends up putting a lot into helping Samson and they both solve the mysteries the town brings them. I have grown very fond of the cast of characters and the well-described locations and had been eagerly awaiting this episode. It tied the narrative strands from the previous books together very well, though I still don't understand exactly how international crime and money laundering work! While Samson and Delilah combine resources once more, before too long they have become embroiled in untangling this mystery which has lain at the town’s core for decades. It is a mystery that some would much prefer stay buried. Because Delilah Metcalfe knows what is coming. A hitman. Sent from London with one objective: to finally silence the troublesome O’Brien before his corruption case can make it to court.Something that will finally expose the network of evil which has been infiltrating the Dales town over the past decade, and in doing so place Delilah in the utmost danger. I love the way that the author weaves all of the different strands together to create a multi-layered mystery that covers some very serious issues. Delilah and Samson are both likeable protagonists and I enjoyed the inclusion of Nina and Delilah’s nephew Nathan in the detective agency. My favourite character is still Ida though. She initially seems a bit of a caricature but rapidly becomes a character that you care about. The combat trousers are a great touch. Cozy Case Files Volume 8 (By: M.C. Beaton,Diane Kelly,Vivien Chien,Paige Shelton,SusanCox,Elizabeth Penney,Mindy Quigley) Little do the detective duo know that several of their cases are about to collide when identifying the whereabouts of the missing man becomes something far more sinister.

The tenant thing worked out well so far, and Samson is doing okay with his detective agency. It’s still running and up and operational, anyway. Mrs. Shepherd is a potential client that one day comes to the agency. This older lady is convinced that there is someone out there that must be attempting to kill her. This is the eighth book in the Dales Detective series and follows almost directly on after the events of the previous book. I think that it would be quite difficult to enjoy this one without having read the previous books in the series.Cozy Case Files Volume 2 (By: Carolyn Haines,Donna Andrews,Hannah Dennison,Cate Conte,Diane Kelly,E.J. Copperman,Ellie Alexander,Cynthia Riggs,Susan C. Shea,Mindy Quigley) I designated it as a semi-cosy as it has darker themes than I expect from the usual gentle cosy. As this was my first experience of this series I have no idea if they are all as dark. Curl up with this delightful murder mystery, full of wit, warmth, and a cast of charming characters. Continue the series with Date With Betrayal. the mystery here is how is it all going to be resolved. The stakes are high, the danger greater than ever as the villain of the piece sees their plans fast unravelling, but will the Dales Detective Agency succeed in discovering the perpetrator, and will Bruncliffe be left unscathed, or will the village be scarred forever by the fallout of this last(?) investigation? Date With Malice” is the second novel in the “Dales Detectives” series and was released in the year 2017. When Mrs. Shepherd shows up at the Dales Detective Agency one morning in December, convinced that somebody is trying to kill her, and Samson dismisses all her fears as only the ramblings of one confused old lady. After a sequence of disturbing incidents at Fellside Court retirement home, he starts to wonder if there could be something to these claims that she is making after all.

Oblivious to his impending date with fate, Samson is busy juggling a number of cases at the Dales Detective Agency. Too busy, in fact, to notice his partner behaving oddly. I know it's counter-cultural and a very small point, but would a gang of pensioners really be so modern about two people going to bed together? In their day people probably believed in commitment first.Cozy Case Files Volume 7 (By: Donna Andrews,Diane Kelly,Ellen Crosby,Ellie Alexander,Vivien Chien,Ashley Weaver,Mindy Quigley)
