About this deal

I’d say they’re fairly rugged and will last a couple years with casual/regular use – save for the laces. The Magna Trail II Firm Ground is a durable, water-resistant hiking trainer made from animal-free materials, equally at home on the trails and streets. founded in 2012 by two seventh-generation cobblers with the goal of creating a shoe that allows the foot to move and functions naturally. Durable and water-resistant, it's designed with a knitted collar for a sock-like fit for unlimited natural foot mobility, from trails to cocktails.

The philosophy behind Vivobarefoot is rooted in the belief that modern shoes with cushioning and arch support can weaken the foot muscles and hinder natural foot function. For someone who’s been wearing barefoot shoes for a while, do you recommend going up a half size to accommodate thicker socks? However after wearing them the first time for a walk, I noticed the crease at the base of the toes where they bend really rubbing against my big toe knuckle, making it uncomfortable and I got blisters. These are water-resistant up to the neoprene tongue and liner which is roughly 5cm or so but unless you’re splashing in streams, it’ll handle your everyday and tougher outdoor days just fine.

lug height, plus a textured arch for zonal grip (ideal for technical trail movement), this sole will keep your feet firmly planted on multiple terrains — wet to dry, concrete to rocky. The Outlast thermal insole is rated to provide 4x more warmth, with cold said to creep 15 minutes, and take up to 1 hour to feel the same effect. The barefoot design means Vivobarefoot shoes are wider around the toe box, to allow them to sprawl and grip the terrain with better foot engagement. base and 4mm lug height designed to maximise ground feel and grip on everything from wet and dry, rocky and firm terrain. On the Firm Ground outsole with a 3mm lug that is zero drop, thin and flexible but provides good traction over trails and rocky landscapes.

So, whilst we believe the shoes are vegan, we’re not yet able to guarantee it and want to be fully transparent. I initially felt like my feet moved around lots inside the boots, and my feet had to work extra hard to grip. If walking without socks (as some prefer), it allows for some foot movement, without feeling too loose, depending on your how tight you lace up.

With a durable nylon upper that is made from recycled plastic waste, these highly water resistant, all-terrain shoes are ideal for day hiking on forgiving trails, making you feel nimble and connected to the trail. The outlast thermal regulator insole also features reflective foil to keep your toes warmer during the cooler months. The outlast thermal insole does an admirable job of prolonging the warmth of your feet when submerged or trekking in the winter and snow.

I wouldn’t use them in races, but I absolutely would use them for summiting some difficult, scrambly mountain peaks. Magna Trail II Firm Ground is a versatile off-road shoe, designed to let you get back to nature with maximum sensory feedback. All thoughts and opinions are that of the reviewer and we are in no way influenced by the brand or company. I’ve done some free climbing, bouldering, mountaineering, and more stuff which required a level of grip. In short, whether you’re adventuring in hot or cold weather, traversing in the city or mountains, the Magna Trail is a reliable companion you can depend on.Be a responsible consumer AND help your body work in the way it should by stepping into the ultra-lightweight and eco-friendly Vivobarefoot Magna Trail hiking boots. I am exceptionally pleased with this purchase from Legend Footwear Pikolinos Blue and Brown Ankle Boots. I’ll go over all the important details such a sizing, durability, water-proofness, and more in this complete Vivobarefoot Magna Trail review. The Firm Ground Sole offers multi terrain traction and a sticky rubber compound for all round grip and durability.

With the Magna Forest ESC, I find the 46 fit comfortably only if I take out the insole when wearing (medium weight) merino socks – otherwise they are too tight on the top and sides, though my toes have plenty of forward room. But for everyday wear and day hiking on moderate terrain, these stylish and eco-friendly boots may be the only boots you really need in your life. This may not be much of an issue for most wearers, however, I have an uncomfortable scar on my foot, right where the shoes crease!I wouldn’t at all pick the Magna Trails as the best barefoot trail running shoe – they’re a little clunky and hefty feeling for that. Check out my Vivobarefoot Magna Trail review video right down below for a full rundown and in real life test on how these shoes perform.
