Clubs

The Friday Blind Club meets each Friday and the Trailblazers Walking Group has walks on the second Tuesday of each month.


Friday Blind Club

Traditionaly known as the Mossley Blind Club.

Where: Club room, 4 Wellington Parade, Dukinfield.

When:

Fridays from 11.30am until 2.00pm.

Membership:

The club is specifically for people with sight loss.

Activities:

Social.

Cost:

There is a small weekly cost.

Trailblazers Walking Group

Where:

Walks, with volunteer guides, are usually around a local park or nature reserve.

When:

The second Tuesday of every month from 1.30pm until about 4.00pm.

Membership:

For people with sight loss.

Activities:

The walks, which are usually on flat ground, are normally approximately one and a half miles long. There is usually a stop at a cafe for refreshments and catch up at some point during the outing. As walks are pre-arranged, it is important that walkers and volunteers inform Tameside Sight staff of their intention to participate each time.

Transport:

Transport is arranged with volunteer drivers, who also act as guiders for the walk.

Cost:

Those requiring transport pay £2.50 per walk.
