Community Support Project
The office at 3 Wellington Parade is usually staffed from 9.30am - 5.00pm every weekday and there is an answer phone for out-of-hours messages.
If you are calling in it is recommended that you telephone first to ensure that suitable staff are available.
All services are available to anyone in Tameside with serious eyesight difficulties. Carers, family members and health care professionals are also welcome to contact the organisation.
The organisation can provide information on all aspects of living with a visual impairment, for example:
- the process of being registered as blind or partially sighted
- particular eye conditions
- how to access benefits and entitlements
- opportunities to participate in leisure activities
- educational classes or access to employment
- aids and adaptations for independent living
If the staff have not got the information to hand they will probably know someone who has and will signpost you in the right direction.
Try them … the staff will do their best to help!
